Founded by women who grew up in or currently live in Birmingham, Alabama, the Brilliant Black Girl Collective is dedicated to enhancing educational futures through various Birmingham educational programs. We invest in scholarships for black girls graduating from Birmingham City Schools who are pursuing post-secondary education. Our community support for education spans multiple pathways, including Certifications, Trade schools, Community colleges, and Four-year universities.

The Brilliant Black Girl Collective was established from a shared belief that brilliance should never be limited by access. For too many young women, potential is present, but opportunity is not always within reach. We exist to help close that gap by providing not only financial support through scholarships for black girls, but also a sense of community support for education, affirmation, and belonging. This work is rooted in the understanding that success is not built in isolation, but is nurtured through access, relationships, and the presence of people who believe in you. When a young woman is supported in this way, her path expands, and so does her impact, particularly within Birmingham educational programs.

In May 2021, a group of founding members came together with a shared commitment to Birmingham. Women who were born here, live here, or care deeply about this community pooled their personal financial resources to support Birmingham educational programs that create pathways for deserving Black girls in Birmingham City High Schools. They believed these young women deserved more than encouragement; they deserved community support for education, with both financial backing and seasoned guidance. What began as a collective act of generosity continues to grow into lasting impact through scholarships for Black girls.
